In the era of fast-paced tech advancements, every day brings some new kind of surprise that has only been imagined before but never done. ZTE launched the new Axon 20 5G smartphone, and it is grabbing a lot of attention for all the good reasons. This phone something new and unique to the table and this can change the way we see and perceive smartphone cameras today.
The phone comes in a very glossy and shiny look on the back. On the right side, the power button along with the volume rockers can be accessed. The top of the phone only houses a secondary noise cancellation microphone. The left side of the phone is kept untouched. The bottom of the phone has a hybrid sim slot that has options of either two SIM cards to 1 sim card and 1 micro-SD card. The USB-C charging port and microphone are also located at the bottom of the phone. The rear side of the phone houses a quad-camera setup along with the Axon branding towards the bottom. The phone comes with a 6.92-inch FHD OLED panel with 90Hz refresh rate.
The quad-camera setup consists of a 64-megapixel primary camera, 8-megapixels ultrawide camera along with 2 lenses of 2 megapixels each for the macro shots and depth. This whole module is accompanied by an LED flashlight. On the front, there is a 32-megapixel selfie shooter. It is not a punch-hole or water-drop camera. It is an in-display camera. The selfie camera is embedded inside the screen and is affected by the functions going on the screen. For example, if you pull down the notification panel while clicking a selfie, the screen will get pixelated indicating that there is an obstruction that might lower the image quality. Keeping in mind that this is the first-generation in-display camera, the quality is decent and might be improved in the coming updates.
The UI is fairly simple to use. It is based on Android 10 out of the box but will be getting a software update soon. The Snapdragon 765G processor is a decent processor and is capable of delivering average performance. Some can say that it is an old processor but that doesn't make it obsolete. The phone is available in 2 variants, one with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage and the other with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. The phone has a 4220mah battery that can last you a full working day on moderate use. On the security front, the phone has a fingerprint, as well as facial, unlock options both of which are fairly fast and responsive.
Video and media consumption on the 6.92-inch full-view display is a good experience. The screen is seamless and enhances the user's experience. The screen is OLED making the colours looks real and vibrant.
The ZTYE Axon 20 5G is priced very competitively at around INR 20,000 and keeping in mind the specs that it has to offer. It can be a fairly good deal.
