Xiaomi Redmi 7A is slated to launch on July on in India, domestic e-tailer Flipkart has revealed on its microsite. The Redmi 7A will also be available on Mi.com and Mi Home stores too.
In China, the company has already announced the Redmi 7A that comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC and is fuelled by a 4,000mAh battery. Last week, Xiaomi India Managing Director Manu Kumar Jain in a tweet announced that the India version will offer a massive upgrade over the Chinese version with few additional features that aren’t present in the China version. The smartphone is also expected to come with a P2i splash-resistant coating.
While the Flipkart’s microsite calls the Redmi 7A ‘Smart Desh Ka Smartphone,’ the website hasn’t revealed the price and other details of the phones, except it will have a ‘fast processor,’ ‘Facebook-ready camera,’ and ‘long lasting battery’ on the new Redmi phone.
The smartphone is expected to come in 16GB and 32GB storage options.
The Redmi 7A will be stripped down version of the Redmi 7 that was launched in April in India for Rs 7,999. In China, the Redmi 7A is priced at CNY 549 (approx. Rs 5,500) for the 16GB variant and the 32GB storage option costs Rs CNY 599 (approx. Rs 6,000).
In India, the smartphone is expected to be priced close to the Redmi 6A that was launched for Rs 5,999 in 2018.
The smartphone runs on MIUI 10 on top of Android 9 Pie and sports a 5.45-inch HD (720x1440 pixels) screen with 18:9 aspect ratio. For mobile photography, the Redmi 7A features a 13MP camera sensor at the back along with an LED flash. At the front, there is a 5MP front shooter with AI face unlock feature.
Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and, a micro-USB port.
