5G may not have come to India as of yet but brands like Xiaomi, Oppo, and Motorola are leaving no stone unturned when it comes to preparing for the 5G revolution, and its all thanks to new Qualcomm Snapdragon processors. Like with any new technology, 5G was reserved for the flagship devices till now but come 2021 and that is about to change. This year at IFA Qualcomm during a virtual keynote at the Berlin trade show said the super-fast connectivity will arrive in even lower-cost devices that retail for around $125 to $250 because of upcoming chips in its Snapdragon 4-series.
Qualcomm President Cristiano Amon said Thursday during a virtual keynote at the IFA electronics show "We're accelerating 5G global commercialization and scale and working to ensure that the most affordable 5G devices worldwide are based on Snapdragon".
Even though the details of the new line of budget 5G processors were not shared at the IFA the company has said that they will be bringing high-end features to lower-cost phones.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun who spoke during Qualcomm's IFA keynote said "2020 marks the year of 5G proliferation, Xiaomi will become one of the first companies to introduce a smartphone using the 5G 4-series platform."

New Qualcomm Snapdragon 5G Enabled 400 Series:
The new line of Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 series of processors will offer 5G connectivity at extremely competitive prices. The 400 series of processors by Qualcomm is known as the company's budget lineup. If Qualcomm is able to offer 5G enabled processors at sub Rs. 20,000 price bracket then it will change its position in the budget segment. In India, it's Mediatek right now who is dominating the budget market.
Recently, MediaTek also released its new Dimensity 800 5G Series Chipsets for the Premium 5G Smartphones. With Qualcomm Snapdragon offering 5G in the budget segment and Mediatek entering the premium segment it seems like the smartphone world is about to go through a massive change again.
