Xiaomi India is going to launch the Mi TV stick in India on 5th August. This comes after a month of its global launch. The Mi Tv stick is another product by Xiaomi India that is targetted towards the lifestyle segment. It is a simple plug and play device for Tv with HDMI port. Xiaomi is also selling another similar device in India called the Mi Box. The Mi Tv stick will let users turn their normal Tv into a smart Tv and let them access all the OTT services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hotstar along with all the Android tv apps. The Mi tv stick will also support Google Chromecast and Google assistant. So users will be able to cast video from their smartphones directly to the Tv easily.
The Xiaomi tv stick will be running on Andriod Tv out of the box. There will be a Bluetooth controlled remote to navigate the Mi tv stick. The Mi tv stick is equipped with 1GB of Ram and 8GB of internal storage. There is a quad-core processor as well. The Mi tv stick will only support HD playback which means that Xiaomi is planning to keep the cost low and target the budget segment. Once the Mi tv stick launches in India it will directly compete with the Amazon Fire Tv Stick. As of now, the Amazon Fire tv stick is selling for Rs. 3,999 on the website. Both these products are targetted towards the same buyer so it remains to be seen if Amazon will still dominate the segment.
