Console gaming has been in the gaming scene for quite some time now. Streaming has grown with the rise in gaming and people consuming more and more gameplay streams. However, one issue that remained constant with streamers streaming in Xbox devices has been the resolution. Xbox has been capped on 720p for a very long time now. This was done to be more efficient on bandwidth and efficiency of the user but the fact that streaming in Full HD or 1080p is the new normal, can not be ignored.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Cloud Gaming Streaming Service is stepping up its game and is all set to let players and streamers stream at full HD resolution.  This might not seem like a very big change as PC streaming is being done on the same resolution for a while now but for console gamers and streamers this can be the next big thing. Consoles now support up to 4K resolution while playing and streaming the game on 720p might not seem like a good idea to a lot of streamers out there.

As per Windows Central's sources, Xbox is already in the process of testing the much needed 1080p upgrade. This may be the result of Microsoft switching xCloud's platform from the Xbox One to the more powerful and efficient Xbox Series X consoles. This is supposed to happen over the course of the year, and it is not surprising that it is not available for consumers yet.

Another major upcoming thing is xCloud's support for Windows PCs. The newer version of xCloud might bring support for touchscreen controls and gyro sensors. One of the most notable features will be that it can still play games from Xbox console that you have at home even if you are away. The app also works on ARM-based Windows computers, like Microsoft’s own Surface Pro X.

This update has been long in works. However, since the update has been already announced, hopefully Microsoft would not take a lot of time of the still very young year and launch its new and improved streaming services at the earliest.
