Valorant is Riot Games' popular Esports title that took the gaming world by a storm. The game has been well-optimized from the starting and with the latest patch 2.03, things have been made better for the players. The weapons and the agents have received tweaking and make more sense now more than ever.
According to reports, guns like Stinger and Frenzy will get slightly more expensive. Reyna is set to get tweaked as well by getting some balanced updates which might look like nerf. Yoru, Phoenix and Brimstone are set to get some updates too.
AGENT UPDATES IN VALORANT PATCH 2.03
Reyna's maximum Devour and Dismiss charges are reduced from 4 to 2 and the cost of Devour Dismiss charge has been increased from 100 to 200. Slaining enemies that Reyna has damaged in the last three seconds now drop Soul orbs, and it does not require Reyna to land the killing shot.
Reports also say that the Gatecrash ability now displays the range at which enemies can see the tether while moving on the minimap. The range to which enemies can hear the Gatecrash teleport can now be seen on the minimap as well.
Adding to that, enemies within Yoru's vision range, while being Dimensional Drift, are now revealed to all the allies on the minimap, but it can no longer block enemies.
For Brimstone, the audio of Incendiary’s lingering fire zone will be clearer to hear even when other sounds occur nearby.
Phoenix also gets some updates, the audio of Hot Hands lingering fire zone will now be more clear even with all the sounds going around at that moment.
WEAPON UPDATES
MARSHAL
Marshal is one of the two snipers in the game and the difference in mechanics between the two guns is drastic. However, in this patch update, the developers confirmed that Marshal will now have a better scope-in experience. This will make it easier for players to land a quick scope headshot making the gun more effective and lethal. Zoomed in movement is now at 90% of unzoomed movement making the movement easier. The gun also sees a price decrease and can now be acquired at the price of 1000.
STINGER
Stinger is a lethal gun at any point in the game. It sees a reduction in fire-rate in full-auto mode and recoil reduction in both modes. This comes with a price hike and the gun can now be acquired for 1100 which was previously 1000. The full auto-fire rate has been reduced from 18 to 16 to provide some control to the gun and the fire rate has now been reduced from 6 to 4 on full-auto mode.
FRENZY
Frenzy is the only melee weapon that can auto fire. This gun sees a price increase from 400 to 500. This is one of the go-to options in the pistol round and it will be interesting to see how this slight price increase affects the preference of players choosing this.
MODE UPDATE
The newly launched Escalation mode looks similar to the Spike Rush mode but is a quick 5v5 mode that lasts only for 7-9 minutes. Both the teams have the same loadout, and it is a mix of weapons and abilities that players can use to get through the rounds. Developers want to see how the player base reacts to this new mode and how welcoming this becomes in the community.
COMPETITIVE UPDATE IN VALORANT PATCH 2.03
Being AFK for a prolonged period, now costs 8 rank points. Act Rank Badges will now be based on players' highest rank win, instead of their ninth-best win. This is to encourage the players to come back to the game in the hopes of turning it around rather than just giving up because they have a bad internet connection or PC issues.
