Covid-19 is on a rampage in India. With the country crossing the highest number of cases in one single day on April 30, 2021, the situation only seems to be worsening. It is best to stay at home and there are some gadgets and equipments that can help you monitor your health and keep the infection of Covid-19 in check. These gadgets are useful but relying on the completely is not a good option. One should seek medical attention as soon as the health seems to deteriorate.
Oximeters
Oximeters are equipments that allow to monitor the blood oxygen level in the body. Covid-19 attacks the lungs, and it is extremely important to keep the oxygen levels in check. An oximeter does just that. It is a device that when out on the index finger shows the current oxygen levels along with pulse rate. If the oxygen levels drop below 95, it is best to seek medical attention immediately.
Smartwatches
Many smartphone manufacturers like Apple, Samsung and OnePlus have their smartwatch line-ups that do more than just notifying you about the messages you receive. These devices are capable of monitoring heart rate, pulse rate and in some cases, even the blood sugar levels. These gadgets are extremely useful in times like these and one can benefit from using them. However, you should not go out of your way to acquire them, if you own one, it is best to put it to some good use.
Air Purifiers
Air Purifiers have been out there for quite some time now but in the times of rising Covid-19 some air purifier companies like 02 Cure have come out with purifiers that are effective against Covid-19 strains in the air. These air purifiers can help you lower the risk of getting transmitted with the virus through air and keep your indoors safe.
Nebulizers
Nebulizers might sound like a thing of the past for a number of people, but it is still very relevant and effective. It can help ease the flow of breathing among people who are experiencing oxygen shortage or breathlessness. However, it is best to keep in mind that it is just a make shift arrangement for immediate relief and not a permanent alternative to medical assistance.
Oxygen Concentrators
Oxygen concentrators are a short-time substitute of oxygen cylinders. These machines concentrate oxygen from the air filtering out the nitrogen and CO2.
Oxygen concentrators using pressure swing adsorption (PSA) technology are used widely for oxygen provision in healthcare applications, especially where liquid or pressurized oxygen is too dangerous or inconvenient, such as in homes or in portable clinics. For other purposes there are also concentrators based on nitrogen separation membrane technology.
An oxygen concentrator takes in air and removes nitrogen from it, leaving an oxygen enriched gas for use by people requiring medical oxygen due to low oxygen levels in their blood. Oxygen concentrators provide an economical source of oxygen in industrial processes where they are also known as oxygen gas generators or oxygen generation plants.
Don't Rely on Apps
There are multiple apps on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store that claim to monitor the oxygen levels and heart rate of the user, but these apps are not reliable and the readings attained from them should not be considered as the final word. Getting diagnosed is the only way to go in these times.
All of these gadgets can be of great use at home but again, these are in no way substitutes of medical assistance and diagnosis.
Stay Indoors. Stay Safe.
