Minecraft is by far the most popular video game ever made. You take control of a Pixel boi (or girl) in a Pixel world and gather resources and build stuff and participate in combat. It is also the best selling game ‘til date, with more than 176 million copies sold. The game offers a lot of customisation and freedom to players and has a large modding community. Thanks to that, people have come up with Minecraft skins which players can use for free and there are tons of them to use.
Instead of a marketplace, like is usually the case with games, the skins files are available for download on various websites and users can also create their own skins. Here is how you can get your own Minecraft skins to use in the game:
Find your skin
There are various websites which offer skins for download from community creators. Minecraftskins.com is one of the most popular one. You can go to the website and browse skins and select the one you like.
Download the skin
Select a skin you like and click the download option next to it. Remember the location where you download the skin file.
Upload the skin to Minecraft
To use the Minecraft Skin you just downloaded, head to minecraft.net. Login to the website with your Minecraft account. After that click the “three dashed button” on the top right corner. A drop down menu will appear. From there select “Profile”. On the next scree, you will see a “Select file” button below the heading “Skin”. Click on that and select the skin you just downloaded. Click “Save and upload”. The next time you login to Minecraft from your PC, you will have the skin equipped on your character.
For Minecraft Pocket Edition, follow the steps on how to download the skin mentioned above, this time on your mobile. After you download the skin, launch the game on your mobile. In the main menu, on the bottom right corner, you will see a coat hanger icon. Tap that. This will take you to a screen with a selection of default skins. You will see a blank skin icon, which you must select. A new option, “choose new skin” will appear under the “Custom” section. Tapping that will lead you to an option to upload a skin from your phone’s files. Navigate to the location of your file, select your skin, and tap confirm.
