UC Web Browser will offer Facebook access at zero data cost to Reliance users in TN, Maharashtra, AP, Gujarat and Kerala

UCWeb Incorporation, the name behind the well known UC Web browser has taken part in the Facebook-led Internet.org initiative by launching a special version of its flagship UC Browser.

The browser will offer free access to a group of mobile websites including Facebook and others at no data charges to the Reliance subscribers in India .

This is the first time Internet.org has launched in India in an aim to make Internet more accessible and more affordable to local users and the Alibaba Group company will provide the required help with its widely used web browser.

As part of the effort, Reliance subscribers in Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Kerala will now have access to more than 30 websites and services ranging from maternal health, education, news, sports, jobs, communication to local information.
