Ubuntu released a new version and you want to upgrade your PC/Laptop! This won't take long as well as it is quite easy. You can do it in just three simple steps. No need to have the coding knowledge or run any commands, you can do it so easily, let us show you how...
But, before you begin, we recommend you to backup your existing Ubuntu installation and data, as they might get affected. Check the latest version’s minimum hardware requirement and if your PC is suitable for the update you can go ahead for the below given three steps.
Press the Superkey (Windows key) to launch the Dash and search for Update Manager
Check for updates
Select the tab called "Updates". Then set the "Notify me of a new Ubuntu version" drop-down menu to "For any new version". Press Alt+F2 and type in "update-manager" (without the quotes) into the command box. The Update Manager should open up and tell you that a new distribution is available. Click Upgrade and follow the on-screen instructions.
Install the upgrade
A message will appear informing you of the availability of the new release. Click Upgrade and follow the on-screen instructions.
