If you use more than one Google account on your Android smartphone, you can now simply swipe to change accounts. While the feature was already present in the iOS, the same has been now rolled out on Android smartphones.
The swipe to switch feature is available in 2019.08.18 of the app. If you are updated to the latest version, you can swipe up or down on your profile picture located in the top right corner of the app switch between accounts. You can also tap on your profile picture, which will show you a list of your added accounts. You can then select the one you want to use.
This is a welcome move for Android users as most of them use more than account on their device and they constantly need to switch among them. The new Gmail new profile switching option has started rolling out to users on the Google Play Store.
The company is also said to be testing a new ‘Play Pass’ subscription service that will offer premium apps and games without any ads or in-app purchases. The Play Pass subscription service sounds identical to the Apple Arcade subscription.
Here is the catch. To enjoy ad-free games and apps, users will have to pay a monthly $4.99 fee for unlimited access to a catalogue of premium apps on the Google Play Store for the Play Pass service. A family plan priced higher than the base price is also in the works.
The Play Pass will offer access to the existing catalogue of games and apps that are already on the Google Play Store. However, the Play Pass service is in the testing phase as of now, and there is no official statement as to when it will be announced.
