IoT startup Smartron has launched a new smartphone in India - srt.phone. Smartron's srt.phone is available in two storage variants -- 32GB and 64GB. Priced at Rs 12,999 and Rs 13,999 respectively, both the versions of the srt.phone will be available on Flipkart starting today.
Talking about hardware specifications, Smartron's srt.phone features a 5.5-inch Full HD display of 1080x1920 pixel resolution, secured with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It's powered by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM. There's also 64GB of internal storage, with support for expansion through microSD cards.
The smartphone runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box and has a 3,000mAh non-removable battery with Quick Charge support.
For imaging duties, the srt.phone a 13 MP primary camera with autofocus and LED flash. There's also a 5MP front-facing shooter for selfies and video calls. A rear-mounted fingerprint sensor is included as well. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.
Although the srt.phone has a non-removable battery, its back panel is removable. The box includes two back covers with Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar's picture engraved on them.
For those unaware, Sachin Tendulkar had invested in Smartron last year.
Smartron launched a slew of smart devices and Internet of Things (IoT) products for consumer and enterprise markets in 2016.
Last year, Smartron launched the t.book convertible laptop at a price of Rs 39,999. This was followed up by the launch of its first smartphone - t.phone - which has a 5.5-inch Full HD display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. The smartphone is currently priced at Rs 19,999.
