Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5: Teased Display New Hinge Design and Colour Options Ahead of the Galaxy Unpacked Event On 26 July

The fifth edition of Samsung's foldable phones — the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5 — will be the show's critical highlights at the Galaxy Unpacked event on 26 July. Samsung has published a teaser video before the event to show off the colour possibilities for its next flagship clamshell foldable and improved hinge. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 appears to have no space between its folding parts when folded. This improvement may be the most significant difference between the new model and Galaxy Z Flip 4.

Samsung revealed the new Galaxy Z Flip 5 in a teaser video

The teasers were shared with the hashtag "Join the flip side." It depicts the Z Flip 5 handset in cream, lavender, and mint colours, with a typical clamshell form that folds horizontally in half and a cover display that allows users to do tasks without unfolding the phone. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 has a redesigned hinge design to remove the gap between both parts while folding, as expected after many leaks and rumours.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is also believed to have a redesigned water drop-style hinge, allowing the smartphone to fold flat without a gap at the hinge. This also enables the phones to remain balanced when opened.

The tech titan has remained tight-lipped regarding the new foldables' price and specifications, but rumour mills have already suggested them.

Galaxy Z Flip 5: Price and Specifications

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 will cost EUR 1,199 (about Rs. 1,08,900) at launch. With a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1,080, 2,640 pixels) Dynamic AMOLED primary display and a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz, it might run on Android 13 with One UI 5.1.1 on top. The outside screen is expected to be 3.4 inches, with an adjustable refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Regarding optics, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is expected to have a 12-megapixel primary camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide shooter. There could also be a 10-megapixel selfie camera. It is expected to be powered by a 3,700mAh battery.
