Much has changed in the last one year for the Indian smartphone market. Realising the potential of the market, the manufacturers take no time to launch their devices after their showcase in the technology events.
Continuing this further, Samsung today introduced the sixth installment of its flagship Galaxy smartphone- Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.
These are the first smartphones from the Korean giant which are completely built by metal and glass. Both the smartphones feature 5.1-inch Quad HD (1440×2560 pixels) Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 577ppi. However, the S6 sports a dual-edge display.
Under the hood will be an Octa-core 4×2.1GHz + 4×1.5 GHz 64-bit Samsung Exynos chipsets with 3 gigabytes of RAM for multitasking. These phones run Android 5.0 out of the box and are the first in the world to feature 14nm mobile processors with 64-bit platforms, new LPDDR4 memory system and UFS 2.0 flash memory.
The smartphones are packed with a 16-megapixel rear camera with OIS (optical image stabilisation) and LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera. To please the photography enthusiasts, Samsung has integrated a slew of other features such as quick launch, tracking AF, auto real-time HDR, f/1.9, IR detect white balance, low light video, high clear zoom, virtual shot, slow motion, fast motion, pro mode, and selective focus.
Samsung said that the devices integrate an enhanced touch-type fingerprint scanner on the home button and Microsoft apps such as OneDrive offering 115GB for 2 years, and OneNote.
The Galaxy S6 is backed by a 2550mAh battery while a 2600mAh battery unit will run the show on Galaxy S6 Edge. Connectivity features include LTE Cat. 6 that supports up to 300Mbps of download speed. Wireless charging with support for WPC and PMA standards are also included in the package
