Usually, we put our Wi-Fi at one common place from where we all can access that, but due to this simple management, most of the places become dead zones, where you can get the connectivity. I am sure most of you guys have faced this issue, however, a simple solution is available to extend your wi-fi range.
The Zyxel WRE6505 Wireless AC750 Range Extender does the same. It looks nice due to small form factor. It is easy to plug and setup device, simply press the WPS button on the extender once and then press the WPS button on your wireless router or gateway. It will copy your existing Wi-Fi network and extend those wireless signals to those dead spots for all your wireless mobile devices to connect to.
Zyxel’s WRE6505 has two modes - Normal Mode to extend on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, Range Mode that extends only the 2.4 GHz band for better wireless coverage, or Speed Mode to extend only the 5 GHz band for the better wireless performance.
While setting it up, in our existing network, it took only a few minutes. Once configured, we relocated it to another place further away from the existing router: It doesn't have any external antennae. We plugged in extender in out test lab. We then ran our tests from roughly 15m from the extender. We used a smartphone and a laptop to test the signal strength and speed. We transferred the 61 MB file that took only 10 seconds faster than previous extenders. Using Wi-Fi Network Analyzer, we tested the wireless speed of the router and it resulted in 86 MBPS of speed and -54 dBm of signal strength.
