Mid-segment smartphones offer variety of choices to the consumer. Recently, Zopo Speed 7 Plus smartphone entered the Indian market. Here’s our take on this new offering from Zopo.
Manufactured to look decent
With large 5.5-Inch display, this phablet has a plastic shell at the back while the brushed metal finish on the top. The rear panel looks good but attracts fingerprints. With the unibody design, the front looks elegant. However, the large display makes it a bit bulky; yet with smart dimensions, you can easily hold the device, even in one hand.
Bright 5.5-Inch Full HD Display
Speed 7 Plus has a 5.5-inch full HD screen with 1080P resolution. The screen has the multi-touch capability and it supports up to 5 touch at a time. With rich and vibrant colors watching videos and playing games is a pleasure on this handset. Also, the brightness level of the screen is quite impressive and it received 454 lux in our brightness test. This means that you can easily use this device in direct sunlight. Its wide viewing angle enables you to share your screen with friends and family.
Capture moments in detail
Equipped with a 13.2 MP rear shooter with LED flash it enables you to capture precious moments in detail. The camera delivers crisp and beautiful images. We clicked indoor and outdoor images and the result was quite impressive.
The front 5 MP camera also produces decent images and is perfect for both selfies and groufies. The phone comes bundled with various modes that allow you to capture images in the different environment. It also has Face Beauty 4.0 that works passively to make your selfies more beautiful.
Performance
The phone is equipped with Octa-core 1.3GHz Mediatek MT6735 processor, Mali T720 GPU, 3 GB RAM, 16 GB ROM, expandable up to 64 GB and runs on Android 5.1 OS. The smartphone is capable of handling multiple tasks with ease. We played graphic intensive games on it apart from switching between apps and no lag was visible. In our benchmarking, it scores 5038 on 3DMark Ice Storm Extreme, 171 on 3DMark Sling Shot, 36651 on AnTuTu, 2593 on Vellamo and 19545 on Quadrant.
The smartphone review unit that we received supports 4G Dual Micro SIMs and comes with Gesture Sensing that lets you open different apps by drawing different letters on the screen. With the screen off, double-tap the screen to wake, draw a “C” to open the camera. Just waving your hands allows you to view the next and previous pictures, there’s no need to touch the screen anymore.
Powerful battery
The smartphone is packed with 3,000 mAh Lithium-poly battery that lasts for more than 16 hours in moderate usage. Using the AnTuTu battery benchmark it took 1 hour 48 min to consume 40 per cent battery and scored 5,731. While in our video test it lasted 6 hours and 20 minutes and consumed 100 per cent battery after we played video over Wi-Fi with full brightness and volume.
