A mid-range smartphone with a sleek and elegant design and decent performance
Vivo is trying to breach the mid-range smartphone market with its latest offering -Y27L. This is a light and sleek smartphone that measures only 6.99mm thick, with solid chassis and cool design. However, you can easily find the resemblance of its previous models including Vivo V1, V1 Max, and Y22. The outer shell is made of plastic--the front has an elegant design while the back panel gets a silver metallic casing with white stripes at the top and bottom. The phone not only looks premium but also feels good when you hold it and offers a good grip.
Bright Display
The Vivo Y27L has a 4.7 inch HD display based on IPS technology that offers the HD resolution of 1280 x 720pixels. The HD display lets you enjoy the videos and games with your friends and family as it offers wide viewing angles. The screen produces rich colors and has the 427 lux brightness rating, which means you can use the phone in direct sunlight without any trouble.
Customized OS
It runs on VIVO own customized OS Funtouch-OS v2.0 based on Android KitKat v4.4 as the backbone. The UI looks similar to its previous versions with some tweaks which enhance your experience with Y27L. The Funtouch allows you to customize the skin as per your choice. The phone runs smoothly, but you may notice a little lag which is due to the heavy skin layering.
Cool performance
The 3G/4G Dual-SIM smartphone is packed with 1.2 GHz Quad-core processor, Adreno 306 GPU, 1 GB RAM and 16 GB of built-in storage (11.8 GB is available to the user) and expandable up to 128GB. To test the performance, we run multiple games simultaneously including Subway Surfer, Asphalt Air born, etc. While playing games, it did not find any lag but when we did some multitasking and played videos on Youtube, it did not perform well and lagged. And in our benchmark tests, it performed quite good and scored 19223 on Antutu, 10727 on Quadrant, 1853 on Vellamo HTML5 and 2645 on 3D Mark Ice Storm.
Powerful battery
The smartphone is powered by a 2,260mAh battery that can last for 8 to 9 hours on moderate usage. During our video tests, it lasted for about 6 hours and 12 minutes with full brightness and volume over Wi-Fi.
