fter a long time, I got a smartphone with a huge 6-inch screen; Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro. Though the phablet category seems to die soon, but still there is a market for such devices combined with powerful hardware. Samsung tried to cater this segment with its premium looking phone, let's find out what it delivers...
Sleek phone, look stunning
The phone doesn't look similar to any it's previous siblings. Measuring only 6.9mm thin, the device is quite slim and has fresh design and premium looks. I received the Gold variant with the matte metal finish at the back.
The phone comes with 2.5D glass covered front panel with thin black bezels. Though it is a large device, you can carry it in one hand, but operating the phone could be difficult at some point of times, especially when you are moving from top to bottom or Vise Versa.
Below the AMOLED screen, a physical home button is placed embedded fingerprint sensor. The physical home button is accompanied by two capacitive (backlit) touch buttons on either side. The sensor is accurate most of the times, but sometimes it failed to recognize fingerprint.
Bright and colorful screen
Galaxy C9 Pro houses Super AMOLED screen with 1080x1920p resolution. Talking about the screen, I want to say its Super AMOLED screen meaning you won't be able to find any flaw in it. Just one complain that it has FHD resolution, which I can't expect from a device at this price.
You would surely enjoy the screen as it produces rich colors and bright enough to use even in direct sunlight. I enjoyed movies, videos, and games on it as well as you can share the screen with your friends and family.
Capture detailed images
The phone packs 16 MP camera at the both ends - front and rear. The autofocus rear camera comes with f/1.9 aperture, dual-tone LED flash and several shooting modes such as HDR, Manual, Continuous Shot, Food, Night, Panorama and more. Using the rear camera you can capture amazing quality images in daylight with accurate colors. However, the low light images are not much impressive and tend to over-soften.
The front camera captures great shots in bright lights with a good amount of colors and sharpness. You can capture selfies and groufies using it. Also, as like rear, the front camera has several modes to click different images.
Talking about video capability, Galaxy C9 Pro can record up to full-HD (1080x1920p) at 30 fps, but it is common with most of the devices. I was expecting better capabilities from a 39k phone from Samsung.
Amazing performance
The phone packs Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 processor combined with 6 GB of RAM, meaning you going to have the blast. Though it has mid-range CPU, still you won't find any performance glitches. The phone can easily handle almost any type of app and game. I installed several apps and games including Asphalt 8, WWE, Mortal combat, etc. I played games even while leaving some of the apps running at the back. It handled them very easily without any visible lag, even when I switched between apps there were no glitches.
Great Battery
It is powered by 4000 mAh battery that can last for more than a day with moderate usage (playing games, using the camera, listening to music, browsing etc.). In our video loop test, it was able to play videos for 5 hours and 55 minutes on one full charge over Wi-Fi with full volume and brightness.
