R7 Lite is a beautiful smartphone encased in a metallic back shell. The brand has managed to keep the thickness of the phone down to 6.3mm and it weighs 147 grams. The front is entirely covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 that protects it from scratches and smudges. At the rear, the aluminum panel feels solid and provides good grip. Covered with metallic rim across the edges, the power/ screen lock button is placed on the left side while the volume rocker is on the right. The secondary camera protrudes a bit outside which increase the risk of scratches when put on a flat surface.
Super bright screen with eye protection
The 5-inch AMOLED display produces crisp colors and has 518 lux of brightness level, making texts readable even in direct sunlight. The phone comes with an eye protection mode which once on sets the brightness to auto mode. The display has 720p resolution which is relatively lower when compared to its competitors such as Moto X Play and Xiaomi Mi 4 which offer 1080p resolution.
Camera with loads of features
Equipped with a 13 MP sensor it clicks detailed images with crisp colors in daylight. Oppo offers a variety of shooting modes which allow you to tweak your images. We clicked images in different modes to test the camera performance. In all the modes, camera did well and produced decent images with rich colors and details.
Its 8 MP primary camera supports all the modes and gives you freedom to capture your life moments and you can click selfies as well. You can also capture videos at 1080p at 30fps.
Seamless Performance
Under the hood it houses 1.5 GHz quad core Cortex-A53, 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory that can be expanded up to 128 GB. The R7 Lite uses a hybrid Dual-SIM system so you can either have two SIM cards or one SIM and a microSD card. The phone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and on top of it, Oppo has added Color OS 2.1 which looks pretty cool. To test the performance we played Asphalt 8 and FIFA simultaneously and the phone ran smoothly without any lag.
