‘The bigger is better’ slogan has become a reality with the Lenovo ThinkCentre X1. Usually, people think of AIO (All-in-one) when they want to save space and avoid clutter, but most of AIOs give only good performance. Lenovo not only brings AIO easiness, but also fulfils everyday computing needs.
Looks stunning
ThinkCentre X1 has a thin profile with 23.8-inch (1920X1080p) non-touch screen featuring an anti-glare coating. On the back side, it has USB, HDMI and LAN port as well as at the left side also it has two USB ports allowing easy access.
The key highlight of the AIO is its stand, which apart from having a thin base, allows a wide range of tilt. And it's quite soft in terms of adjustment. One only needs to exert soft pressure to adjust it as per his/her convenience. This also gives the user a hassle free access to everything. The only drawback is that is has no option to adjust the height of the screen, so you need to bear with the height of the screen.
At the right side, it hosts power button, mute button for the microphone and computer/display switch. We loved the port arrangements of Lenovo AIO, as it enables easy access to all the frequently used ports.
The bigger and brighter screen
Choices may differ from person to person, as most people look for a space saving AIO and ThinkCentre X1 has a 23.8-inch screen, which some may find quite large to work on for the whole day. At the same time, others find it suitable for their jobs. All-in-all, we can say it's made for people looking for a large screen AIO with a sleek profile.
The screen produces vibrant colors, so that images and videos look rich. It has impressive wide angles letting you enjoy videos, even at 180 degrees. This enables you to share the screen without any worry. The brightness and dark levels are also good, adding great viewing experience to the user.
Amazing performance
You don’t have to compromise on performance. Lenovo has added powerful hardware inside the thin screen that can easily handle intensive apps. We tested the device for more than three weeks and used it to run various applications and games.
While using the AIO for everyday tasks, we didn't notice any performance lag. We used it for everyday office jobs as well as played some games. We played games like Thief and Shadow of Mordor. It was able to handle both the games easily. To test it further, we opened Mozilla and Chrome browsers with more than 20 tabs in each and browsed different websites including YouTube. Further, we ran MS-office and other apps simultaneously, but there was no visible lag. However, while switching between apps we noticed a little delay. But this delay was expected due to such extensive load.
The 1080p webcam is placed on the top of the screen, which is good for video calls. Mic is also quite powerful, we made and took calls on this and found the overall performance to be proficient. The AIO comes with Lenovo’s keyboard and mouse. The chicklet style keyboard is responsive and comfortable to use. The mouse has five buttons, enabling the user to perform various tasks easily.
It is equipped with Dolby audio that produces nifty sound, though it's not very loud. But you can enjoy music, games and movies on it.
