LeEco (formerly known as LeTV), the Chinese smartphone manufacturer is trying its luck in India. Here we review their latest smartphone--the Le 1S.
Beautifully Crafted: Though it's a budget smartphone, it has a metallic unibody design with a 5.5-inch screen.
The sleek smartphone has black glass that surrounds the screen and extends all to two sides. The standard three capacitative Android navigation buttons are placed below the screen, hidden until you tap one. It looks great and thanks to the thin bezels, they have managed to fit a 5.5-inch screen in a small body, making it easier to handle. The power and volume buttons are on the right, 3.5mm audio socket on top and Type-C USB port on the bottom.
The Le 1s weighs 169g but somehow doesn't feel as heavy even with prolonged usage.
Bright Screen Produces Vivid Colors: The 5.5-inch Full-HD screen supports a resolution of 1080x1920.
It produces rich and vivid colors and offers wide viewing angles with good brightness levels. You can enjoy watching movies or playing games on this smartphone, as it produces sharp colors and the speakers produced pretty loud and rich sound.
Powerful: The phone is equipped with 2.2G Hz MediaTek Helio X10 CPU, PowerVR G6200 graphics, 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage. This smartphone runs on Android 5.0.2 with LeEco's heavy eUI skin. While testing the device, we didn't notice any performance lag, even when playing graphic intensive games like Asphalt 8.
The smartphone has a fingerprint scanner, which also has a mirror finish that unfortunately attracts smudges, but enhances security nevertheless. It can store more than one fingerprint profile and is quite responsive in reading the fingerprints.
The smartphone boasts of a 13-MP camera at the rear and 5-MP on front. Both cameras are good to shoot images in daylight, but we missed a little detailing in the images clicked by rear camera. It comes with various modes and features that enable you to click close-up shots which are quite good but with some noise.
The phone is backed by a 3000mAh non-removable battery that provides enough juice to last for more than a day on moderate usage. In our battery test, it managed to play video with full brightness and volume over Wi-Fi for about 7 hours, 38 minutes.
