Kult, a new telecom brand in association with Wistron Corporation has debuted its first 4G smartphone 10(Ten) into the Indian market and is targeted towards affordable segment buyers. Being a budget smartphone it packs basic hardware, software combination though the only phone available with 3GB RAM at this price point will make it create a buzz for itself among buyers.
Design
The 10 (Ten) by Kult smartphone has simple, minimalistic design. It has a 5 inch HD display protected by a fully laminated touch panel made using Asahi’s Dragontrail glass and the back has sandstone finish like in OnePlus phones.
It is an LTE device with a 64 bit quad core processor, 3GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt memory and supports Smart Dual SIM feature that provides user the convenience of using two SIM cards (Micro + Nano SIM Slots) with the option of replacing one sim with a micro SD card expandable to 128GB. It comes with Android Lollipop 5.1 operating system (upgradable to Marshmallow). Power and volume rockers are housed on the right side of the device.
The smartphone is equipped with 5-megapixel front camera along with 13-megapixel rear camera, with super-fast PDAF(Phase Detection Auto Focus). The camera comes powered with anti-shake, face detection; manual focus, exposure controls, smile and gesture capture options among other features.
Performance
We used the Kult 10 smartphone review unit for almost a fortnight and being a affordable smartphone it worled fine , however camera department did not impressed us much. The HD IPS display with 450 nits of brightness displayed good colors be it playing games to watching videos to web surfing.
The 1.3 GHz processor coupled with 3GB of RAM did the fine job of multitasking, switching from one app to another and coming back without any performance lags. We also played some high end games like Asphalt 8 and it performed well without any heating issues.
The 13MP rear camera works good under daylight conditions and pictures came out with good colors and details. However in low light it lacks majorly and was not able to capture details. Some other camera features includes HDR, Panaroma, Face beauty for better selfies. Also the images looked fine when viewing over the phone but if you view in on a Full HD screen like desktop PC or a laptop they will look pixelated.
The 10 (Ten) by Kult comes with 2350 mAh removable battery and can be charged from dead to 80% in almost 1 hour 30 minutes which is pretty much average given the size. In our video loop test it lasted for 3 hours 40 minutes. The smartphone is packed with smart swap keys, ambient lighting and a tangle-free flat wire data cable.
Kult has also partnered with Telecare, which has a reach of over 500 service centers across India, for providing after sales services.
