JBL L16 Authentics

The JBL L16 Authentics is inspired by L100 loudspeaker and is a stand-alone system for all your music or movies. It offers AirPlay for iTunes and iOS devices, DLNA for Android devices and Windows PCs and Bluetooth connectivity – including instant Bluetooth pairing with Near Field Communication (NFC) technology providing easy wireless connectivity and audio playback.

Housed in well constructed solid wooden enclosure featuring a walnut finish, it surely has eye-popping looks and is meant to be the center of attention in your living room. It is larger than most wireless speakers physically. It is loaded with Clari-Fi sound technology enabling it to produce more detailed music and helps you take advantage of today’s versatile music sources without compromising on the sound quality. It has 2 USB ports, one for charging smart phones and the other for charging tablets. It can also be used as sound bar via optical or RCA phono input ports.

The speaker does not include an external remote but a Music App that lets you control volume, select input source and set EQ. However, the two physical knobs are placed on top of the speaker to toggle between input sources and lowering/raising volume. The Music App is available on the Apple Store and the Android’s Play Store for free.

When you stream music on any device, music is normally compressed, which in turn removes the details of audio when recorded originally. The compressed music however, allows for efficient and fast downloading. To restore that original music, JBL has integrated L16 with Clari-Fi sound music restoration technology. It restores the artistic details lost in your digitally-compressed music and removes unwanted distortions and artifacts ensuring that Authentics is always performing at its best. This results in clear vocals and percussion instruments separation and fulfilling impact of every beat, guitar strumming and bass.

300 watts of power delivers exceptional audio experience

The two custom designed 1” drivers, two 2” mid transducers, two 5-1/4” woofer drivers coupled with amplifying power of 6*50W are capable of delivering room filling loud sound. We played various genres of music over Bluetooth, Wi-Fi etc, and it delivered detailed music play at the top end, warm and rich across the mids. On our bass track, it delivered thumping and deeper bass response and surely knows how to hit every beat right. It is one of most impressive speakers in its own class that sounds perfect no matter how complex your music library is. It has the stability and power that we want from a speaker.

When played at highest volumes, it did not show even a hint of distortion and sounded fuller and booming. Percussion, guitar strumming and drum tracks sounded excellent to get your mood in party mode. The clarity delivered is remarkable. We played and tested the speaker watching several action movies, racing movies and it surely delivered astounding and immersive audio experience.
