It runs on the Android operating system and has 4GB internal memory, out of which 2Gb is available to download & install apps from its App Store. Other smart features include Web Browser, Youtube, Facebook etc. The remote of the Tv has plenty of option and to reduce the chance to hit the wrong key while using the remote there is enough space between the keys.
Good Picture Quality
To review the performance we tested the TV with various Full HD movies, sound tracks etc and Intex puts on a decent show for itself. It may not have been able to compete with the televisions offering true black levels but the TV conveyed good black levels in most scenes. When given a completely dark scene it did not impressed us and lacked depth.
However, when we fed the TV with FHD content, the picture quality increases and the TV pushed good black level and an appreciable amount of depth in far away scenes. The color reproduction was also good and it is capable of delivering natural skin tones. Color uniformity was also good and when viewed off-axis color did not looked faded.
Talking smart features, Youtube works totally fine without any glitches or buffering on the 1Mbps shared internet connection. We played a lot of video songs on the YouTube everything was good but we didn't find an option to up or down the video resolution. It plays videos resolution according to the internet speed. We have also tested the Miracast option which also worked fine but there was a lag between the video playing on the phone and Tv.
The sound produced by Intex 5001 was good and is best suited for dialogues, vocals, less complicated tracks and struggles with bass heavy music. When watching an action movie, there was good clarity in dialogues however the explosions and gun shots sounded thin and you may want to invest in some good speakers to live all the action. The TV has automatic volume leveler(AVL) feature that is used for Channel Sound Stabilization. Turning on the feature helps to avoid volume fluctuation when changing the channels. This prevents a dramatic increase or decrease of the decibel level of the audio from the TV speakers.
