As the name suggests, this speaker is in the form of a UFO so it's bound to catch your attention. It is small enough to work either with a smartphone or tablet, and really gives life to your music. The speaker has controls for pairing, volume up/down housed on the lower semi-circle of its body. The volume controls double up as track navigation controls if you hold them down instead of tapping them. This can be a minor annoyance at timeswhen you want increase the volume, but the speaker jumps to the next track. Besides Bluetooth, the UFO03 can also connect over USB and even has an FM Radio to listen to your favorite stations.
Good Music Performance
Going by size alone, the speaker doesn't appear as if it would provide high fidelity audio, but it actually sounds very well. On our intense bass track at maximum volume, it played with a significant amount of power and the sense of bass is fairly decent. We felt a slight distortion on some of tracks though the kick drum beats sounded crisp. On tracks with sub-intense bass content, it delivered a laudable level of bass despite having such a compact size.
At moderate-to-high volumes, the bass response brings out the lower register instruments a bit more, making the track sound fuller and bright. It's not of course meant for fans of deep bass music. The vocals get a decent level of high-mid treble edge to keep the sound through the UFO03 rich and bright. The speaker sounded best at 70-80% volume levels for just about all genres of music. Classical tracks sound bright and maintain a forceful presence throughout.
