iBall once again happens to be the first to introduce an Octa processor based tablet PC in 10.1” display segment making the Brace X1 front runner among other tablets. After the launch of iBall Octa A41, another 8 core tablet in 8.1" display size and now with Brace X1, the bigger brother of A41, it shows that iBall is going to create a stronghold on the tablet industry. Here, we take a closer look at the design, performance and other aspects of this device.
Design
Being a 10.1 inch tablet, Brace X1 is huge in size and comes in similar fashion as Lenovo Yoga tablet with a flexible kickstand. This allows you to perform a quick switch from one mode to another letting you to view your tablet in upright position for web browsing or for typing or viewing movies in landscape mode. The tablet features a silver-line finish at sides and matte finish at the back. The camera is located at top middle on the screen and the power and volume buttons are at sides.
Display, Camera and other Features
Brace X1 is equipped with 10.1" IPS panel with HD resolution (1280*800). It packs 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera but without the LED flash. Various pre-loaded camera modes include Panorama, Multi-angle, Face Beauty, Live Photo, Voice Capture, Face Detection, Continuous Shot, Smile Shot, HDR, Self-timer, Zero Shutter Delay etc. Like the previous tablets, this also runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. It comes with 16GB in-built memory that can be expanded to 32GB via micro-SD Card.
Lastly, the dual SIM-supporting device comes with a built-in phone calling function with hands-free. As for the connectivity options, it supports USB tethering, USB Internet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and OTG function.
Powerful Performance
To review the performance, we test the tablet under various benchmarks, it delivered flawless performance. ARM Cortex Octa Core processor clocked at 1.7GHz coupled with 2GB RAM allows you to run app without any delay thereby giving you a seamless experience throughout. The HD IPS panel delivers crisp colors and good viewing angles for watching movies, playing games or web surfing.
The 13MP rear camera performs well in good light, but struggles under low or dark light conditions. The 5PM front camera works well for capturing selfies or during video chat.
The dual chamber speaker located at the sides of the cylindrical stand produces loud and clear audio but don't expect bass coming out of it. They are just good enough to entertain you in close proximity.
Another interesting feature of Brace X1 is its 7800mAH battery that lasts upto 20 hours on light to moderate usage. However, when looped a video at full brightness until the battery drained out, it lasted for 8 hours.
