Bottomline : Incredible gaming headset from HyperX with awesome sound and great comfort. It is one of the best headsets for gaming enthusiasts, only microphone disappointed with poor noise cancellation.
A comfortable headset can enhance your gaming experience without disturbing others. HyperX, a division of Kingston Technology, is one of the prominent names in the gaming industry. It has a wide range of quality gaming gears. Recently, they announced their CloudX Revolver Gears of War gaming headset. Here is what we found during the review of this product.
Design and comfort
The headset is co-designed by Microsoft and The Coalition, the studio developing Gears of War 4 to offer the fans a complete gaming set up that shows their Gears with pride. Microsoft has tested and approved this headset with additional compatibility for Windows. It comes with a 3.5mm (4 Pole) plug and 2M PC extension cable. The in-line audio control makes it easy to adjust the volume and mute the microphone right from the cable. HyperX CloudX Revolver Gears of War features a genuine leather headband and HyperX memory foam to offer great comfort for hours. The outer shell is made with solid steel for long-lasting durability and the detachable noise-cancellation microphone. The headset is certified by TeamSpeak and Discord and compatible with Skype, Ventrilo, Mumble and Raid Call.
Ultimate gaming experience
We used the headphone for more than three weeks and for different purposes, including games and music. On soundtracks with intense sub-bass content, like DJ Magic Mike’s “Feel The Bass,” the speaker pumped out flawless bass with a lot of oomph and detail. The mid and treble ranges are well-defined and the vocals sound crisp and clear. The great bass and treble also came out with amazing balance while playing games. Even on low nodes, the headset sound quality was awesome. We were able to equally enjoy it at loud volume levels. We were not able to notice any disturbing distortion on any level of frequencies.
The microphone is not that much impressive but is decent to use. We plugged it in different devices including PC, smartphone, etc. It worked well but the microphone wasn't able to remove the noise in the background. However, our voice was quite clear at the another end.
