With additional paper handling capacity the HP M553x fits nicely as a heavy-duty shared printer in a an enterprise
HP recently introduced new 553 series of LaserJet printers targeted at SMB's to large enterprises. The new 553 series are an update to previous 551 series and are 28% smaller in footprint than 551 series. Here we take a look at M553x.
At 458*479*581 mm (WDH), the HP M553x is large enough and you'll probably want to put it on a table of its own, plus it weighs 33.4 Kg, so you may need two people to unpack and move it into place. The M553x features a 4.3 inch touch screen control panel that is easy to use. Additional paper handling capacity options are available to bring the paper capacity to a maximum of 1750 sheets. The printer has duty cycle of 80,000 pages thus is capable for medium to large volume printing.
Superb Print Quality
In our standard ISO test with 5% ink coverage, it printed 35 B/W A4 pages in a minute with first page out in 7 seconds. The output quality is excellent and text looked sharp. Text quality is decent and is easily readable upto 4pt font size below which clarity gets destroyed and text looks blur. When we timed the printer again for one minute to check color print speed, it printed 35 A4 pages.
The graphic print quality is awesome with rich color reproduction. You can also fire a print directly from USB drive and the only recognizable format is pdf. The printer has quiet running operation and does not produce much noise level while printing.
