A lightweight and superfast SSD to replace old hard drives
The solidly built Corsair Force LX 128 GB SSD is only 7 mm thick and 2.5 inches form factor. The slim SSD comes in an attractive, full-metal, black colored casing with a matte finish. Inside the adorable body, it has four NAND Flash chips and comes with a standard SATA power and data connectors on the front. The SSD uses the Silicon Motion SM2246EN controller as well as 120 GB, Micron 20nm ONFI MLC NAND.
Installing the drive is the same as any other standard drive, minus the noise! And it generates lesser head as well. It is a fast drive with a boot speed of 55 seconds. The affordable drive is suitable for people looking for fast and reliable drive to upscale their PC performance under budget constraints. When we tested the drive on our test bed (Intel Core i5 CPU, 4X2 Kingston DDR3 RAM, Windows 7 OS and Cooler Master 350 Plus), it touches the highest read speed of 44.2 MB/s read and 38.8 MB/s write speed, while using 10 GB assorted files. Running the benchmarks, it performed well on both Crystal Disk Mark 249 MB/s read and 149.6 MB/s write speed, and with HD Tune Pro, it delivered maximum and minimum read speeds of 235.1 MB/s and 62.5 MB/s respectively.
