The CATZ VR is made of plastic, and as a result is far sturdier and more comfortable to use than Google Cardboard. The Catz’s VR is designed in such a way that it fits on your head comfortably. It's made from sturdy plastic. Between your eyes and VR headset, you will find a soft leather cushion, which makes it comfortable to wear for longer periods of time.
Design
Out of the box, the Catz’s VR has a single strap attached that holds the headset onto your head. It has three straps design, one strap from over the head and other two support the headset from the left and right side. Three-straps design gives VR more stability over the head. It also stops the unit slipping down your nose when you begin to move around. On the both sides of the headsets, there is a nob that is used to make easy distance adjustments. The distance between two eyes is different from person to person, so for getting the clear picture it has a wheel at above the headset that helps to adjust the distance between lenses of the eyes. It also features a removable front cover that helps emit heat when using mobile phones. VR CATZ also provides two windows for your phone camera (taking photos via Bluetooth controller etc.).
Characteristics
The CATZ VR Glasses is compatible with 3.5-6.0 inch Smartphones (Lmax: 154mm; Wmax: 82mm). The phone holder of VR CATZ headset is ideal for 3 to 6-inch smartphones. It has 20 mm adjustment scope, VR CATZ lets you adjust the focal distance which is very useful for different near-sighted people. It lets you adjust the pupil distance from 56mm to 73mm. It has a magnetic phone holder that makes VR CATZ extremely convenient and easy to operate.
Controllers and Usability
It is simple but much superior to Google cardboard. The adjustable nobs make it good for watching a movie and playing games without any discomfort. We have used it to watch different videos, even 4k by using OnePlus 4 smartphone on and off for 2 weeks. It’s very comfortable, exceptionally light and thus can be used for long periods of time. We have used apps like Var’s VR video player to generate VR compatible videos. Using this, your smartphone’s screen is divided into two sections for VR Glasses, each section is what each eye sees. Really, we got a theatre viewing the experience from our normal smartphone. It’s meant to be an entertainment system and not something to always have because all VR’s may cause a headache for longer use. For ventilating, it has a removable front cover that helps emit heat when using mobile phones.
About the usability, the VR is perfectly fine but the only thing which may irritate is its phone holder. If you have the power button on right side of the smartphone, then it may create a problem. The hinges of the holder push the power button when you placed it in the holder, which sometimes lead to power off.
