The mini-DSLR type camera has several features, whopping 50X zoom capability and wireless connectivity including Wi-Fi with NFC. Happy Clicking! - Ashok Pandey
Last time we received the Canon PowerShot SX400IS with 30X and Nikon Coolpix L830 with 34X ultra-zoom capability and this time Canon brings another bridge camera with the super-zoom capability of 50X Powershot SX530 HS. Though, the former didn’t have wireless connectivity and controls over the shots, the latter has it along with whopping 50X zoom.
Comfortable hold with rebel-style grip
With the resemblance of mini-DSLR, SX530 HS is comfortable to hold - thanks to its sticky rubber. It looks good and feels light for its design. You get a great grip on the camera as well as easy access to shutter button which is surrounded by a zoom control. It provides several controls with its easy-to-turn control dial on the top. At the rear, it gets the rest of the controls including flash, macro, display, and ISO shortcuts etc.
Rich features
The camera has Wi-Fi and NFC for sharing images using the CameraWindow app which is available on both iOS and Android platform. A dedicated button is also placed at the rear to shoot full-HD videos at 30 fps. It has a 3-inch TFT LCD display at the rear with a 461k-dot resolution, which is sharp enough and has good viewing angles.
The 16MP sensor camera comes with 50X zoom lens that covers a 24-1,200mm (full-frame equivalent) field view for you to capture wide-angle landscapes. It has strong optical stabilization to deliver crisp shots even at the maximum zoom range. Its f-stop starts from f/3.4 - f/8.0 (W) and f/6.5 - f/8.0 (T), when you zoom-in, it narrows the range from f3.4 to f/6.5.
There are two buttons on the left side of the lens barrel. The top button is the Framing Assist function that lets you find the previous focal length. Simply press and hold the button after losing your subject when zoomed-in. It will widen the view of the lens and you will find your previous focal length, release the button to come back to the lens in that zoom position. Using the lower button, you can lock the focus. It is useful when you are shooting any moving object though it is little slow in it.
Variety of Modes
The control wheel gives you different options to adjust aperture or shutter speed in the corresponding priority modes. The camera supports full manual shooting option for prolific photographers to shoot in different conditions by choosing their settings.
Other modes are also available on the control wheel including AV, TV, Program, Live and auto etc. You can click quality images using these modes in desired conditions, for instance if you are clicking any flying object like the bird then switch to TV mode for shutter priority and opt shorter speed.
It also has Creative Shot, which takes six pictures in one click. The first image clicked is without any effect and rest five have crops and artistic filters applied automatically.
Super-zoom camera to capture long distance objects
The mini-DSLR type canon camera has huge 50X optical zoom capacity to capture even the moon. The 50X zoom lens achieves a maximum wide-angle focal length equivalent to 24mm that is capable of a telephoto distance shooting. Using the 50X zoom you can click detailed image.
Sharp and detailed image production
Canon PowerShot SX530 HS is the right camera for shooting long-distance images with good sharpness and almost no barrel distortion at wide angle. It can shoot a high contrast scene with a little chromatic aberration. Using the ISO 400-800, you will hardly notice any noise, even the ISO 400 images are pretty detailed. Increasing the ISO above 800 would add a little noise to the images. It blurs the lines slightly, but photos are still quite useable.
Using the SX530 HS, you can click macro shots even from 1 cm distance. However, the depth of the field becomes very shallow at such close distance.
You can record 1080p quality video in MP4 format. The quality of the video is pretty good with smooth sharpness and clear sound, even when zooming in and out.
Decent Battery backup
The camera is backed with NB-6LH battery that can click 200+ shots. But if you are moving out to click multiple shots, then it’s better to carry an additional battery pack with you.
