Brainwavz Audio’s another headphone M5 comes at the budget price. This is an IEM or canal phones earphone made up of lightweight aluminium shells with metal (silver in color) nozzle filter covered with black color. The cables are a little bit thin as compared to the cable above the Y-split; the right one has to microphone along push button to perform a different task such call picking and music play or pause.
The 3.5mm jack is in L–shape and has pretty solid and durable isolation. But the isolation near the ear driver are not so solid and may be stretch out accidently, we think it should be more solid. The cable is rubbery and prone to tangle.
Comfort
The design is almost similar to the rest of IEM earphones which available in the market but the main thing which makes each earphone different is its comfort level. The M5 is semi-deep insertion IEM and it comes with 6 pairs of silicon ear tips Small, large and medium wide & narrow single flange tips including one pair of medium comply foam tips, double flange tips, and a cable clip.
The comfort level it provides is good and the drivers are easily stuck into your ears and not stumble down while walking or running. Moreover, the proper insertion into ear and comfort level also depends upon the type of tips or buds your using. The cable is flexible and can be used as straight or over the ear. Cable noise is also not so extensive it present only when wore it over the ear.
Sound or Performance
The M5 has 10mm dynamic drivers having an impedance of 16 ohms and frequency range of 16 Hz-18Khz. It has a sensitivity of 103dB at 1 mW. For testing these earphone we used them on One Plus 3 smartphone and Windows PC by running various different genres such as rock, pop, Bollywood, jazz and classical. The Lows of the M5 are well separated and can differentiate easily whereas mids are clear and crisp. The treble and vocals are great for the earphone at this price range on another hand instrumental separation can be easily identified. We also used M5 to listen track of Deep house session mix music which is a mixture of dance club beats and M5 perform very well, the speaker produced high fidelity and clear crisp mids and highs with accuracy but the bass is average. The microphone of m5 also worked very well with call and we didn’t find any drop during testing.
