Boult Audio’s Zigbuds is aiming to grab the attention of users looking for affordable earbuds with great sound and battery life. The latest earbuds from Boult Audio promises a punchy bass, dynamic sound and up to 18 hours of playtime. But, is this decently priced earbuds actually able to deliver what promises. Let’s find out in the review.
Design and fit
Zigbuds has a minimalistic design that looks simple yet elegant. The charging case is also well designed and looks premium with the matte finish on the top. There are four LED indicators, inside the charging case. These lights indicate the battery percentage in the case.
The earbuds are rather tiny and feature LED indicators on it. It goes from red to blue when the battery is low or when you are listening to music. Overall, the earbuds and charging case has an elegant design.
The earbuds come with in-ear tip, these tips can be good for people who have fairly big ear canals, but nor for smaller ones. Due to the tip, earbuds were not fitting properly in my ear. It kept falling, even when I changed the tip with the silicon one, included in the box, it was not a perfect fit. The earbuds are lightweight, so you won't feel any weight when you put them on for long hours.
Performance
Pairing the Boult Zigbuds is quite easy, just get it out of the charging case, and turn on your Bluetooth, find the earbuds and click on pair. The earbuds are seriously impressive in terms of sound quality. Wasn’t expecting such sound and battery life from an affordable device.
Zigbuds handled the lows, mids and highs quite well. Even on high volume, there was no cranky or sound floundering. I played songs of various genres in different file formats like FLAC, mp3, ALAC, and WAV. It sounds well on low, mid and high volumes with amazing bass and balanced treble. The noise isolation quality of the earbuds works well when it fits perfectly, but don’t come with active noise cancellation.
Boult Audio Zigbuds has a good range of Bluetooth connectivity, that can go about 5 to 8 meters. Though, the call quality of the headphones works great within a range of 5 to 6 meters. The earbuds come with touch controls, you can pause and play music, but these are quite sensitive. Even while adjusting the earbuds, the music went pause, which is a bit annoying. The earbuds also come with an in-built mic but the call quality was not really commendable.
Now the most significant part, the battery life. It’s only small in size but not on sound and battery life. The earbuds can go for beyond 4 hours of battery life in one charge. The charging case can give it juice for three times of usage, meaning it can stand for over 16 hours. The case takes around one and a half hours to charge fully.
