Previously we reviewed Blaupunkt’s 4K smart TV and this time we got a chance to explore its next QLED 4K smart Google TV. The German brand developed the next-gen TV with Quantum Dot technology that offers an entertaining and engrossing viewing experience.
Build and design
Like the Cybersound 55-inch TV we reviewed last time, this new TV also follows a similar design and build aesthetics. It has a lean look with thin bezels. The bottom of the screen has a silver lining with Blaupunkt branding that grabs your attention.
The solid body is made out of plastic. The unit comes with a pair of stands and a wall mount. The stands are made of plastic yet feel solid. All the ports are placed at the back, including three HDMI ports, two USB Type-A slots, a LAN port, and an antenna port. For wireless connectivity, the smart TV offers Bluetooth 5.0 and support for dual-band Wi-Fi. Holding a large 55-inch screen, the smart TV does occupy a significant amount of space wherever you place it.
This time remote got some upgrades in terms of size and functions. Along with dedicated keys for Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube, it also has buttons for menu navigation, Google Assistant, settings, back, home, and volume controls. The voice assistant works well and generally has good recognition capabilities.
Performance
The QLED 55-inch smart TV has a 4K resolution and displays up to 1.1 billion colors. It features Dolby Vision that offers detailed images with vivid colors, enhancing the overall TV viewing experience. It uses Motion Estimation, Motion Compensation (MEMC) technology to increase the frame rate of low-frame-rate content in order to offer it a high frame rate for a seamless appearance. Additionally, it reduces lag, ensuring that even fast-paced scenes appear smooth and clear.
The QLED smart TV not only offers rich display quality but will also take your smart TV experience to next level. The Android TV is powered by a MediaTek chipset equipped with a quad-core Cortex-A53 processor, Mali-G52MC1 GPU, 2 GB RAM, and 16 GB internal storage. It runs on Android 11 offering a fluid experience. The UI is clean and easy to navigate. It comes with various pre-loaded apps including Netflix, Amazon Prime, LiveTV, YouTube, Facebook, etc. Additionally, you can download your favorite OTT and other apps and games on the TV using the Play Store.
I enjoyed exploring the UI and it was pretty fine, however, I noticed a little lag when switching between OTT services. The intuitive UI is great but navigating through you might notice some lag.
Brightness levels are excellent plus there is no viewing angle issue, you can enjoy your TV from different angles. It produces rich colors offering mesmerizing viewing experience with the amount of detail visible in each shot along with the dynamic range.
There is support for both Dolby Vision and HDR10+ content. Thanks to MEMC smoothening, it can automatically scale up any content to 60fps without a hitch.
It packs a stereo speaker setup that has a maximum output of 60W and is Dolby Atmos tuned. There is no crack in the sound even when you raise the volume to its maximum levels. The TV’s audio setup is perfect for your living room.
