From low-budget to high-end, it’s always easy to find a smartphone depending on your budget. We received an entry level Aqua 3G 512 smartphone for review. This smartphone is made for first-time smartphone users or people who are moving from feature phone to smartphone. They can buy a smartphone at a lower price point and get access to the world of Android smartphone to enjoy rich Android experience.
The smartphone review unit we received was made of durable plastic which gives it a pretty look. The dual-SIM Aqua 512 comes with 4-inch WVGA IPS LCD display with 480 x 854 pixels resolution and pixel density of 233ppi. The multitouch display supports only two fingers at a time, which is expected from such low-budget smartphone. The screen produces decent colors and is bright enough to be used outdoor.
Aqua 3G 512 is packed with 1.2 GHz dual-core Mediatek MT6572 processor, 512 MB RAM, Mali 400 Graphics engine and runs on Android 4.4.2 operating system. To test its performance we played some games and didn’t came across any lag but it was visible when we switched between apps. In our benchmarking, it scores 1018 on 3DMark Ice Storm Extreme, 14146 on AnTuTu, 1008 on Vellamo and 4131 on Quadrant.
This device sports a 2 MP rear camera with LED flash and a 0.2 MP VGA front facing camera. The rear camera clicks decent images in daylight, but don’t expect much from this 2.5k smartphone’s camera as well as the front camera is poor.
The smartphone is packed with 2100 mAh Lithium-ion battery that lasts for 4-5 hours in moderate usage. Using the AnTuTu battery benchmark it took 1 hour 33 min to consume 40% battery and scores 5105. While in our video test it lasted 2 hours and 42 minutes to consume 100% battery, playing video over wi-fi with full brightness and volume.
