High capacity SSD with solid performance and build quality
Like the Corsair Force LX, the ADATA Premier Pro is also a drive with solid build quality, is 7 mm thick, and has a 2.5 inch form factor. Unlike the Corsair SSD, this one has 256 GB capacity and has an Aluminum finish. The SSD comes with a 3.5 inch bracket to mount it in a desktop PC. Plus, you also get a free download copy of Acronis True Image HD, a software that makes it easy to migrate and backup files.
The fast SSD delivers impressive boot-up speed of 44 sec only. The company claims read and write speeds of 560 MB/s and 500 MB/s respectively, with the SSD. Though it didn’t reach to that level, yet it performed well in our tests. Using our test bed (Intel Core i5 CPU, 4X2 Kingston DDR3 RAM, Windows 7 OS and Cooler Master 350 Plus), the 256 GB SSD gave 44.5 MB/s read and 38.4 MB/s write speed while transferring assorted data of 10 GB. Over the It performed well in the benchmark tests as well. In Crystal Disk Mark, it gave 211.4 read and 243 write speeds; while in HD Tune Pro, it clocked a max/min read speed of 218.5/120.5 MB/s respectively.
