Mukesh Ambani led Reliance Jio recently announced all the details of its Jio Fiber, the company’s optic-fiber based broadband service. With the Jio Fiber, the telecommunications giant aims to reach over 20 million households and over 15 million business establishments across 1,600 towns in India.
With the Jio Fiber broadband service, the company is also providing free landline calls, complimentary access to OTT platforms. As part of the introductory offer, users will also get a free set-top-box.
For the plans, Reliance Jio has segmented them into bronze, silver, gold, diamond, platinum, titanium.
The base plan starts at Rs 699 and goes all the way up to Rs 8,499. This plan offers 100Mbps speed and 100GB+50GB extra data with free voice calls, video calling and conferencing. For the Rs 849 plan, users will get 100Mbps data speeds and 200GB+200GB extra data along with the same calling and conferencing benefits as in the Rs 699 plan.
If you opt for Rs 1,299 monthly plan, you will get 250Mbps data speed with 500GB+250GB extra monthly data. The Rs 2,499 monthly plan offers 500Mbps data speed with 1250GB+250GB extra data. With the Rs 3,999 and Rs 8,499 data plans, the company is providing 2,500GB and 5,000GB data, respectively at 1Gbps data speeds.
For users interested in Jio Fiber broadband service, they need to make a one-time payment of Rs 2,500 for the installation. The Rs 2,500 installation cost includes Rs 1,500 security deposit and Rs 1,000 as a non-refundable installation.
The company has also announced a ‘Welcome Offer’ for Jio Forever annual plans wherein consumers will get Jio Home Gateway, Jio 4K Set Top Box, Television Set (in Gold plan and above), and subscription to OTT apps.
If you wish to use the Jio Fiber service, you need to register yourself via the company’s official registration website. The registration process requires you to fill in your phone number, email ID and home address, which will be later confirmed by an OTP. After that, sales personnel from the Reliance Jio team will contact you for further installation of the service.
