The Realme GT 5 has been officially introduced in China. The strong Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU powers this new smartphone. One of its most notable characteristics is its support for highly rapid 240W charging. The high-end smartphone is the latest addition to its successful GT brand and comes with impressive specifications and features, so here's all you need to know about it.
Design: Realme GT 5
Realme worked with BYD Electronics to create the 'Miracle Glass' on the rear of the GT 5 model. The Realme GT 5 phone sports a large camera island and a dual-tone back panel. It contains a camera module that appears like a visor, similar to the Pixel phones, except it is much larger. This module has two rings for the cameras on the left. Meanwhile, the right side has a transparent glass panel showing off the Snapdragon CPU and rectangular LED light strips (dubbed Halo Pro) in various colours.
Display: Realme GT 5
A large 6.74-inch OLED screen with 1.5K resolution and a quick 144Hz refresh rate graces the front. The new Realme GT 5 also incorporates an independent X7 display chip built by PixelWords for a better visual experience. This screen offers a peak brightness of 1400 nits, 2160 PWM dimming, 1.46mm narrow bezels, and a 93.7 percent screen-to-body ratio.

The Realme GT 5 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, up to 24GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
Camera: Realme GT 5
Three cameras are located on the back of the Realme GT 5. The primary sensor is a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 with OIS and PDAF. It also has a 2-megapixel macro camera and an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle lens. On the front is a 16-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
Battery and Charging: Realme GT 5
Notably, the new Realme GT 5 smartphone has two distinct variants, each with a different battery size and charging rate. One has a larger 5,240mAh battery pack supporting 150W rapid charging speeds. According to the manufacturer, this type can achieve full charge in 18 minutes. The second model features a less powerful 4,600mAh battery pack but still offers a high charging rate of 240W. This allows for a full charge and 2 hours of conversation in 9 minutes and 30 seconds.
Price and colour options: Realme GT 5
The Realme GT 5 will be available in two colours: Flowing Silver Illusion and Starry Oasis (Green). It also comes in a range of storage configurations. A 12GB + 256GB model costs 2,999 Yuan (about $411), a 16GB + 512GB model costs 3,299 Yuan (about $411), and a 24GB + 1TB model costs 3,799 Yuan (about $520). The Realme GT 5 smartphone will be sold in China on 4 September.
