Qualcomm is all set to launch its new Snapdragon 660 processor on May 9 , at an event in China. But it seems that's not the only launch the company has planned.

According to a tweet from a tipster with the Twitter handle @mmddj_china, Qualcomm could launch the Snapdragon 630 and 635 at the event as well.

The tweet came as a reply to a tweet from another tipster, "I think you'll like what Qualcomm wants to show you on May 8/9, if you liked what they did with the SD65x and SD625."

There is currently no information on the Snapdragon 630 and 635. Based on Qualcomm's history, these chipsets could be aimed at mid-range smartphones. The Snapdragon 635 could be the successor to the Snapdragon 625, which was introduced last year in February.

As for the Snapdragon 660, which is expected to be the highlight of the event, it has been previously reported that the octa-core processor will include four Cortex-A73 cores and four Cortex-A53 cores.

Like other processors in the same Snapdragon 6xx series, the upcoming SoC (with Adreno 512 GPU) will likely be targeted at mid-range smartphones. It has also been mentioned that the chipset could support UFS 2.1 storage, the same as the flagship Snapdragon 835 chipset supports.

It is also said to come with 2xLPDDR4 RAM support and a clock speed of 1866MHz.

Although the company will be announcing the SoC on May 9, it is expected to go into mass production in the second quarter of this year and may show up in smartphones from Chinese brands, says a report by the Anzhuo website.

At CES this year, Qualcomm launched its high-end Snapdragon 835 processor. In addition, the 205 SoC was launched for 4G feature phones as well.

At the time of launch, the company said it has partnered with OEMs like Reliance Jio, Micromax, Borqs, Megaphone, Flextronics and more to sell Qualcomm 205-powered 4G handsets in India.
