PUBG Mobile vs Call of Duty Mobile: The Battle of Royals

Ever since the release of Call of Duty mobile on Android and iOS one of the questions that is on every gamer’s mind is which one is better. Both of these games are based on PC video game titles. PUBG was a PC game that changed the gaming genre by bringing a battle royal experience to players that worked. On the other hand Call of Duty, the brand is so popular in the gaming world that one could argue it is almost the Ferrari of gaming titles. Today both gaming giants have their mobile versions that are performing very well. Both Call of Duty mobile and PUBG Mobile have their esports and have streamers playing their games on different platforms. Even with all that the question remains, which is the better one? 

Graphics

PUBG Mobile: This game is running on the Unreal 4 engine. One of the big advantages of using the Unreal4 engine to build games is the fact that it makes the game look more realistic. Unreal 4 is often associated with giving more photo-realistic visuals in the game and that is one of the biggest reasons why PUBG Mobile looks more expansive and comprehensive to players. 

Call of Duty Mobile: This game is running on the Unity game engine. This is not a bad engine to run games on but one of the reasons many players think COD: M looks more game-like or unrealistic is because of this game engine. In the Unity engine, the graphics and visuals look more plastered on. By no means, this is a bad engine or Call of duty mobile has bad graphics but it looks very different from PUBG Mobile. 

Gameplay

PUBG Mobile: When it comes to gameplay, PUBG mobile has COD beat at battle royal. One of the biggest reasons why PUBG Mobile is preferred by players is because of the different maps in the BR Mode. Most of the maps in PUBG Mobile are the same that you can see on the PC game. This gives players a feeling of playing the PC game on their mobile. Plus the fact that there are 5 different maps for BR mode in PUBG Mobile also is a huge pull. There are other game modes like Arcade mode and Arena Mode in the game. 

Call of Duty Mobile: Battle royal mode exists in COD but it is not the main focus of the game itself. The main difference in both these games is the way they approach players. PUBG Mobile is a battle royal game first and a multiplayer game later. While Call of Duty mobile is a multiplayer game first and a battle royal later. Call of Duty has only one map in BR mode which they have expanded upon with update but there is still only one map. The game has mainly focused on its multiplayer mode. There are tons of different modes and maps in the MP mode. 

Weapon System

PUBG Mobile: Weapon system in PUBG Mobile is good but it is not even near Call of Duty mobile. There are different classes of weapons in PUBG Mobile. It starts from melee weapons like Pans and goes all the way till light machine guns. That being said, one of the weak points in PUBG mobile is the loot system. If you want good loot in the game you have to drop in certain places of the map. These places are called hot drops and have a lot of players dropping in the same location. This makes it difficult for new players or casual players to fully enjoy the game.

Call of duty mobile: Call of Duty mobile has one of the best loot and weapon systems when compared to any mobile battle royal genre. From customization to the in-game experience of the guns themselves, Call of duty mobile does it far better. The loot system is also more comprehensive and spread around so even new players and casual players are able to get good guns in the game. If you really want to see the loot system in action the try out the Multiplayer mode in the game. 

Vehicles and Movement

PUBG Mobile: To move around in PUBG Mobile players can either use walking or running and vehicles. That’s it. Over the years PUBG Mobile has not added new ways for players to move around in the maps. There are different types of cars and motorcycles but there is nothing else for players to use. 

Call of Duty Mobile: Call of duty mobile has so many options for players to move around. First, there is the gliding option that lets players glide when they jump from a high position on the map. This is available to all players in battle royal mode. Then there are the usual options of vehicles like four-wheelers and two-wheelers but the highlight of the game is the helicopter. In Call of Duty Mobile players can use the helicopter that is available on the map and fly around.
