The portable audio gear segment is always abuzz with multiple products lined up for release every month. Last month Portronics launched Harmonics series of in-ear earphones, with its first stereo Bluetooth earphone – Harmonics 202. It comes with smart magnetic-switch, 4.1 Bluetooth, and in-line microphone.
In the box
One USB charging cable, six ear tips and ear hooks (two are equipped on the headset).
Comfort
The earphone comes with additional ear-buds and ear-hooks. Both ear-buds act as a smart magnetic switch so they can be connected or separated to 'Pair - Play - Pause' music and take calls. It has a tangle-free neck-wire with in-line mic. However, you might find the earpiece hard to adjust as it comes out at times.
Good sound quality
Harmonics 202 provides stereo quality clarity with rich range of music thanks to aptX Lossless sound. The best part about Harmonica 202 is zero distortion and effective noise cancellation that eliminates background noise to ensure high-quality audio when making calls or listening to music. I used it for few days and was really satisfied with its overall performance. Bass is set to medium; the treble is clear and mids are recessed. The sound is well-balanced but people who are used to high bass output earphones may find the low-end a bit bland.
There was no problem while making calls both indoor and outdoor and the call output quality was average.
Decent battery
After full charge the earphone lasts for 3 to 4 hours. However, the listening time also depends on loudness of music. It takes around 1 hour to charge the battery.
Verdict
Solid sound and decent battery make these a decent pick for the daily commuter.
