In Delhi, the much-anticipated India Mobile Congress 2023 has officially kicked off today. The Department of Telecommunications announced on the social media platform X that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the guest of honor for the opening of this three-day event.
For individuals working in the telecom and technology industries, the India Mobile Congress 2023 is a must-attend event since it promises to be a hub for innovation, information sharing, and networking.
According to a PIB release, the event is a joint venture between the Ministry of Telecommunications and the Mobile Operators Association of India and will be held at Pragati Maidan in Delhi. This year, the IMC is held for the seventh time, and a large audience of almost 100,000 participants is expected. In addition, more than 1,300 delegates and 400 speakers from 31 countries joined, making it a global technology show.
"3 days to be at the forefront of Asia's biggest tech event! Experience the next era of technology, from the core chips that power our devices to the skies of drones. Join us 10/27–29/23 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi," the India Mobile Congress wrote in its message to X.
A significant part of this year's IMC is the introduction of the Aspire program. This project is designed to help young entrepreneurs in the telecommunications and digital industries start their own businesses. In July 2023, Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav highlighted the importance of India's status as a technology powerhouse, making the Aspire program timely.
According to PIB, India Mobile Congress 2023 will include discussions on many important topics. The event is clearly focused on 5G expansion, future 6G preparations, broadcasting, drone equipment manufacturing, semiconductor manufacturing, and sustainable technology.
Moreover, the use and promotion of AI in India are expected to be the main topics of this important meeting. During the event, PM Modi will also introduce 100 ‘5G Use Case Labs’ and educational institutions nationwide. These laboratories are part of the initiative 100 5G Labs.
