The Chinese giant Oppo has launched entry-level phone “Joy”. The dual-SIM smartphone can please your pocket and eyes, but may not at the features. The sturdy body of Joy is made of plastic which is scratch and smudge resistant and looks trendy. The 4-inch device is handy and has only 125 gram of weight, making it a decent lightweight device.
The 4-inch WVGA touch screen display comes with “Gloves Mode” that enables easy operation even with gloves. It packs 1.3 GHz dual core processor, 512 MB RAM, 4 GB internal memory expandable up to 32 GB and runs over Android 4.2. The device runs smoothly with normal usage including playing games, watching videos etc. The phone doesn’t come with lots of pre-loaded apps, but after adding some more apps/ games, it lags.
The 3 MP rear camera with LED flash is average performer and not made for lensman. Decent images can be clicked in the daylight, but in lowlight it results noise. The front VGA camera is nice for daylight video calling. Speaker is loud and1700 mAh battery lasts for about one day with normal usage. In our benchmark testing, like Quadrant, AnTuTu and Vellamo, it performed better than Panasonic T11 and iBall Udaan but less than Karbonn Titanium S5 Plus.
Bottomline: With smooth transitions, the device works well with normal usage. It’s not made for multitasking and heavy apps. If you are looking for a phone under Rs 10,000, then look for other options like Karbonn Titanium S5 Plus.
