On Friday, Oppo launched the Oppo A59 5G smartphone in India. Earlier this week, the Chinese company previewed the phone's release on the microblogging platform X (previously Twitter). The Oppo A59 5G, introduced as an economical 5G handset, succeeds the Oppo A58 5G, launched in India in November last year. Oppo's latest smartphone has a thin body design, a 90Hz refresh rate display with a peak brightness of 720 nits, and a 5,000mAh battery.
Price and availability of the Oppo A59 5G in India
The Oppo A59 5G is priced at Rs. 14,999 for the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage model. The handset is also available with 6GB+128GB RAM and storage. The Oppo A59 5G will be available beginning 25 December through the OPPO shop, Flipkart, Amazon, and other retail channels. The Oppo A59 5G phone will be offered in two colour variants: Silk Gold and Starry Black.
According to Oppo's press release, interested purchasers can also get a cashback of up to Rs. 1,500 and no-cost EMI for up to six months on purchases made from retail outlets and Oppo stores using an SBI card, IDFC First Bank, Bank of Baroda credit card, AU Finance Bank, or One Card. The company also provides EMI payment options starting at Rs. 1,699. Customers can also earn guaranteed goodies when purchasing the A59 5G as part of the My OPPO Exclusive promotion.
Specifications for the Oppo A59 5G
The Oppo A59 5G comes pre-installed with the company's ColorOS 13.1, based on Android 13. The Oppo A59 5G phone has a 90Hz display with a peak brightness of 750 nits and a colour range of 96 percent NTSC. It has a MediaTek Dimensity 6020 processor, a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, up to 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage.
The Oppo A59 5G has a dual sensor at the rear, with a 13-megapixel primary lens. The Oppo A59 5G front camera has an 8-megapixel sensor with an aperture of f/2.0. The Oppo A59 5G phone has a 5,000mAh battery and supports 33W SUPERVOOC flash charging. Oppo says the phone can charge up to 52 percent in 30 minutes. The Oppo A59 5G phone has a USB Type-C charging port. It has a 5,000mAh battery with 33W SuperVOOC charging capabilities.
