Chinese startup OnePlus has launched OnePlus X. This is the third smartphone from the company, will be available in Onyx and Ceramic versions. The Onyx version is priced Rs 16,999 and will be available through an invite only flash sale on Amazon.in on November 5. The Ceramic version will cost Rs 22,999 but will be a limited edition with just 10,000 units becoming available later.
Today, the company said the OnePlus One will continue to sell at least till the end of this year. While OnePlus might argue that the upcoming ‘mini’ version is not a flagship product, there seems to be compulsions behind OnePlus launching the ‘mini’ version in such haste, especially when it once boasted about an “Apple-like one device an year ” policy. Market dynamics could be a reason. Or, may be OnePlus doesn’t want to let go off the opportunity in sub-Rs 20,000 market.
