China’s OnePlus often dubbed as the company that bring ‘flagship killer’ phones has in 2019 introduced OnePlus 7 Pro smartphone that can put many of the high-end devices to rest in peace. While OnePlus is gaining a lot of momentum in India and its sales are increasing every year, there is one such company in the flagship space that stands tall on its loyal fan base by bringing useful features in its devices – South Korean giant Samsung. In this OnePlus 7 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S10 comparison, we will see whether the newly launched OnePlus 7 Pro be able to outshine Galaxy S10.
OnePlus 7 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S10: Design and display
The OnePlus 7 Pro is dominated by a curved edge-to-edge design at the front, which is further complemented by the QHD+ AMOLED display that supports HDR10 and HDR10+, providing rich gradients and great colours to enhance your multimedia experience.
On the other hand, if you have earlier used the Galaxy S9, you know what the Galaxy S10 will look like. The best way to describe the Galaxy S10 is to say it looks like a piece of art. Samsung has engineered its Galaxy S10 in way that is well ahead of Google, OnePlus, in terms of design and aesthetics.
The Galaxy has a 6.1-inch high-resolution, Infinity-O OLED panel and offers great viewing angles. And as Samsung is best when it comes to displays, the Galaxy S10 is no exception. While OnePlus is great too in display, it just can’t match the intensity provided by Galaxy S10 – which is just fantastic to look at.
One advantage OnePlus 7 Pro has over Galaxy S10 is the 90Hz refresh rate which means the OnePlusn7 Pro responds to apps and videos faster and offers lag-free motion in games and videos.
OnePlus 7 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S10: Specs and features
While the OnePlus 7 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, the Samsung Galaxy S10 is fuelled by the Exynos 9820 octa-core processor paired up with 8GB of RAM. Both the devices perform just as fast as a flagship smartphone should. In your daily routing of apps and tasks, you won’ be able to slow these phones down. Apps open quickly and multitasking between them is a breeze.
The main difference you will notice is in the battery life. The S10 has 3,400mAh compared to 4,000mAh battery in the OnePlus 7 Pro. Thus, the OnePlus 7 Pro could last a little longer and when you quickly need to juice it up, the Warp Charge 30 comes to the rescue. The Warp Charge charges 50 per cent of the battery in just 20 minutes.
The OnePlus 7 Pro also packs UFS 3.0 storage and RAM boost – making your smartphone work faster while loading documents or in app launch times. Both the smartphones run on Android 9 Pie with custom skin on top. Samsung has its own One UI in Galaxy S10 and OnePlus 7 runs on OxygenOS which has really come a long way to finally appeal to users.
OnePlus 7 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S10: Camera
The OnePlus 7 Pro offers the most advanced camera setup on a OnePlus device. The smartphone comes with a triple camera system — 48MP primary camera, a 16MP wide-angle camera and an 8MP telephoto camera. The 48MP camera sensor uses Sony IMX586 sensor.
The Galaxy S10 also comes with a triple camera setup consisting of a main 12MP sensor and a dual-aperture lens that switches between an f/1.5 and f/2.4 aperture. There is also a 12MP secondary camera with 2x telephoto lens and an f/2.4 lens.
The OnePlus camera captures 12MP photos by default and if you want to click in 48MP you have to manually select it first from the camera app. But, do note that 48MP photos are on average 14-16MB in size. The 48MP camera works on pixel binning technology – combining four adjacent pixels to create a large 1.6-micron size, resulting in more clarity and details. There is also a 16MP pop-up camera at front.
