The OnePlus 3 set repudiated all boundaries of imaginations at the time of its launch, back in June this year, given especially its price of approximately Rs. 28,000. And, while hardly any flagship can beat the specs that the OnePlus 3 boasts of, Co-founder Carl Pie want to push these boundaries further with an improvement model, rumored to be called OnePlus 3T, where T stands for “Turbo.” This is not a new model and is primarily believed to be an under-the-hood upgrade.
One of the most significant changes is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chip instead of the existing Snapdragon 820, coupled with the same 6GB of RAM. The 821 is currently featured only on the Google Pixel series of smartphones. The company has been enthusiastic and vocal about its new display technology under development called the Optic AMOLED and OnePlus 3T can be the first phone which features a display based on the same. Android Police, however, recently reported that OnePlus is facing difficulties in sourcing AMOLED displays and may have to settle with a higher-resolution (supposedly 4K) LCD display in the 3T as compared to the Full HD AMOLED display on the OnePlus 3 currently.
Hopefully, one day consumers will feel that Optic AMOLED > regular AMOLED.

Other upgrades may include a better 16-megapixel camera module, putting to use Sony’s IMX398 sensor with Optical Image Stabilization and Phase Detection Autofocus. The storage options offered will also be bumped up, presenting two variants – 64GB & 128GB. The battery is also likely to see a jump from current 3,000 mAH battery to a juicier 3,300 mAH battery. OnePlus 3T is most likely to run a modified version of latest Android Nougat v7.0, based on its proprietary OxygenOS which was recently teased by CEO Pete Lau. However, the news of Oneplus combining OxygenoS and the China-only HydrogenOS has also been afloat in the android community for a while.
Leaks suggest that a rumored OnePlus device codenamed A3010 was awarded a 3C Certification in China last month, which has kindled hopes of OnePlus fans across the globe. After a variety of speculations and avid discussions on Chinese social medium Weibo, the Turbo edition of OnePlus 3 is anticipated to launch on November 14th . Update: It will be launched on Nov 15th via Facebook live feed at 7PM UK time. The device will retain standard features like USB Type-C with Dash Charging and 4G with VoLTE. OnePlus may reportedly go with the flow of flagship trends in 2016 with a new Black colour, just like Apple and Google.
The pleasing upgrades will obviously sport an added price to the current OnePlus 3, which is predicted to be $80 over existing $399; thus $479. This will make the overall price in India to be approximately Rs. 31,999, which is tempting given its specs that counter the heavy buck Google Pixel phones.
OnePlus 3 + ~$80 +

OnePlus has forever strived on the philosophy of “Hype,” and its ability to deliver quality products has revered OnePlus the fandom it enjoys to date. We are still eager to see if the OnePlus 3T (or whatever it will be dubbed officially) will stand up to the brand’s notion of Never Settle and become the undefeated Flagship Killer of 2016 or not.
