In China, Nubia is planning to introduce a new device to its Red Magic gaming smartphone line. The company had announced that the smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm's newest flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which made its debut last month.
The launch date of the phone has now been confirmed by the company via its official Weibo account. The release of Red Magic 8 Pro is scheduled for December 26 at 3 p.m. (Chinese local time) in China. The upcoming gaming phone is already available for pre-order from the company. The Nubia phone, which bears the model number NX729J, was recently spotted on Chinese certification platforms like 3C and TENAA, revealing some of the most important features of the upcoming Red Magic 8 Pro.
Pro Red Magic 8: Expected Specifications
The Red Magic 8 Pro is anticipated to have a 6.8-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2480 x 1116 pixels, as revealed by GizmoChina's TENAA listing. The listing on the certification platform also says that the upcoming gaming phone won't have a punch hole for the selfie camera, so it won't have a full-screen experience.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor will power the Red Magic 8 Pro, as previously stated. The product is anticipated to be available from the company in three distinct RAM and storage configurations: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB of storage with 8GB, 12GB, and 16GB of RAM. It is said that this new smartphone will have UFS 4.0 storage and LPDDR5x RAM for better gaming performance.
A triple rear camera setup with a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro/depth sensor may comprise the device's optics. An 8MP under-display camera for taking selfies is also expected to be included in the Red Magic 8 Pro. In the meantime, the smartphone is likely to come with two battery sizes, a 5000mAh and a 6000mAh option.
Further, the Red Magic 8 Pro will be able to charge quickly up to 165W, according to the 3C listing. Red Magic UI, which is based on Android 13 OS, is probably already installed on the device.
