After many incidents of the Nokia 8 iterations leaking on the internet and various rumors surrounding it, Nokia 8, the flagship phone from HMD Global has finally been officially launched. The Nokia 8 will be globally available in early September priced at EUR 599 (approximately 45000).
Coming to the phone, Nokia 8 has a unibody built of 6000 series aluminum and it will be available in 4 color variants- Polished Copper, Polished Blue, Tempered blue and Steel. The phone sports a 5.3-inch 2K display with a Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top. The highlight of Nokia 8 is its Snapdragon 835 processor, the most high-end processor offered by Qualcomm. The phone has 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage. It comes with a microSD card support of up to 256GB.
On the optics front, Nokia 8 carries a 13-megapixel dual camera setup at the back, with one RGB and one Monochrome lens less. Nokia 8 has a 13-megapixel selfie camera, and both front and back camera is capable of recording 4K videos. The smartphone has also gained fame for using Carl Zeiss optics for its cameras. HMD Global has also added Ozo Audio, which means that much like Nokia’s futuristic VR camera, the Nokia 8 will capture 360-degree audio, allowing for it to be broadcast live on streams.
There’s also a 3,090 mAh battery, which HMD claims will get you more than a full day of usage, complete with support for Quick Charge 3.0. There’s a USB-C port on the bottom for charging, alongside a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone comes with a hybrid SIM slot(2 SIM’s or 1 SIM and 1 microSD card).
Initially, Nokia 8 comes with Android 7.11, and HMD has said that it’ll be updated to Android O later. The Nokia 8 India launch is expected to be in early October, and the Nokia 8 price in India will be known closer to launch.
