Xiaomi announced their latest UI update with the name of MIUI 12.5. MIUI has come a long way from where it started and has been able to provide consistently good user experience from time to time. Nothing less can be expected from the newly announced UI development from the company's side. The company has listed a number of phones that will be getting the update in Global Q2.
The first look of the UI looks like the Oxygen OS. The boot animation has been changed along with the sound of the phone when it boots. The software update might also come with the better optimized and latest Android 11. The volume menu and the power menu have been changed and made more immersive with transitions and effects. The control centre in the drag down remains more or less the same. However, the setting menu saw some changes.
The option of "Wallpapers and Personalization" has been newly added which gives a very similar feel to the Oxygen OS. This option allows users to change the theme of their lock and home screen, toggle Always On Display options and choose icon packs of their choice. The animations for fingerprint have also been enhanced and now come with more options.
Users can also change the notifications shade and the control centre can now be changed by the user suiting their style. The recent tab now has a horizontal moving app list that can take you a step closer to the stock android experience. The Blur app preview is a new addition that can protect your data from being accessed even from the recent tab. You can blur out the applications that you do not want others to be peeping in.
A new and interesting addition has been made to the Game Turbo setting with Voice Changer option. Gamers can now change their in-game voice to options like girl, robot, woman, cartoon, etc. This might be helpful for gamers who like to stream their gameplays online and do not want their original voices to be revealed to the audience. The floating window experience is no more laggy and works perfectly. The camera app also saw major changes but the performance improvements can only be seen when the update starts rolling out.
